We presented our film pitch to the class and teacher to get feedback on the pre-production and all the research we have done. We got some very positive feedback on the drawn out and photographic storyboards. It was distinction level work and it was very clear what each shot was, every single shot used was purposeful and wasn't picked at random. Another thing we got some positive feedback on was the location we have picked to film. At first, Lee was quite worried as the film is set in 19th Century Texas and we are filming in an English Country Park. But once looking at our location recce he could see it would clearly work. The only negative feedback we got was about our secondary research for the genre. It was just a list of influences with a paragraph on why they have influenced us, it was more primary research than secondary. What we should have done is researched into the western genre. For example how they came around, what makes a western film, how they have evolved, any sub-genres (spaghetti western) and the different types of western tropes. On the other hand, our primary research was excellent. It was a great way to see everyone's opinion on the western genre and what we could do to improve our idea. Overall, our pitch went really well and we went away with some great feedback. The only thing we have to improve now is researching into the western genre.
